| Examine the clarity of your wine. Young red wines do not have any sediment but it is normal to see in aged reds.. Young red wines are purple or ruby red while the older ones range from brick red to amber. To inspect the color, tilt your glass away from you at 45 degrees and hold it in front of a white backdrop. Another property of wine that you may notice while observing the color is the intensity of that color As with white wine, more intensity is an indicator of a more full-bodied taste. Again, swirl your glass and watch the wine form tears or legs |
